Fear is the enemy of will. Will is what makes you take action. Fear is what stops you and makes you weak. You must ignore your fear. When you’re afraid you can’t act. You can’t act, you can’t defend. You don’t defend, you die!
This one is more than a little geeky. Mark Strong’s Sinestro character said this when he first encountered Hal Jordan in a training duel on Oa in the recent Green Lantern movie. Although this movie wasn’t exactly the best superhero movie I’ve seen, the fear-courage theme is pretty inspiring.
