Twisted cables
My theme today is “Twisted Cables” and I got some interesting results. I edited the photos with Picasa (I was going to use Aperture but couldn’t figure out how to do anything). These photos are the ones I like the most from the batch:

Migrating photo libraries - where to put them?
I moved my iPhoto library off my MacBook’s main drive the other day.  It freed up about 55GB of space on that drive.  It seemed like a good idea even though it took Lightroom a couple hours to re-scan my drives and update its catalogue. The very next morning I opened Picasa to show someone an image of something and I realised I didn’t have my library on my MacBook anymore.  Now...

Twitter is a steaming pile of #fail
Twitter is down so often I am starting to be surprised when I visit the site and it isn’t actually down. My mind still boggles at Twitter’s popularity and the extent to which its fans go to promote it. Their knuckles must be white from hanging onto their misconceptions that Twitter is all they make it out to be.

LeVar Burton and Brent Spiner chat to Leo Laporte...
I got such a kick out of this TWiT interview with two Star Trek legends, I had to share. If you are a TWiT fan, you can watch many of the shows either on YouTube or in Quicktime if you download the video files. Not all the shows have video downloads just yet and I don’t think they are available on iTunes yet (the videos) but it is great to watch the occasional show to see the faces...

One of my favourite photos of the day
I won’t go so far to say I am participating in the 365 photos thing but I am going to start carrying my point and shoot around with me more and more and taking photos of stuff that catches my attention as I go about my day. I posted a couple photos to Flickr earlier today but these ones, in particularly, appeal to me: This next one didn’t quite come out like I thought it did (to...

Women and their opinions! Crazy talk, I tell ya.
I had fun with this conversation yesterday and want to share it. Suzan Gray is one funny lady. It all began with Suzan’s response to The Daily Maverick’s predominantly male line-up … … of course I responded sympathetically and in a gender sensitive manner … … to which Suzan responded with her thoughts … … at which point I started giggling...
