To file or not to file
I scan my bank statements, bills and other stuff I get in the post. I have been filing them away in a series of sub-folders depending on whether the documents are business or personal, bills or correspondence etc. This takes quite a lot of time to do when I get around to doing my filing and I am debating simply dumping my scanned docs into one big folder or perhaps monthly folders instead of...

The DA's election blunder
I was chatting to our housekeeper this morning about the elections yesterday. She said something that reinforced my views about the DA’s election campaign on the streets. She views the DA as a strong party and feels that Helen Zille could potentially take the presidency one day. The problem is the DA’s heavy emphasis on stopping Zuma which many voters interpret as an attack on them,...

My life tends to be expressed through 1 of 2...
I am either obsessed/intensely passionate about a series of things and activities (currently my obsessions or passions include FriendFeed, Lord of the Dance and one of FriendFeed’s founders, Paul Buchheit) or I am just doing all the other stuff. How I feel about all the other stuff varies from one thing to the next but I am pretty much always excited and hungry for the stuff I am...

Commentary on Web pundits and cranky journos. This video was linked to in a conversation about Mike Arrington’s views about FriendFeed and Twitter.  It is a fantastic video because I think it is so true. I also don’t know why I didn’t pay attention when Ze was still doing this show back then. the show with zefrank

Gillmor versus Scoble
I just had a good laugh. Steve Gillmor, writing on TechCrunch IT, waxed lyrical about what the new FriendFeed UI means for microblogging and the embargo in place until a little later when the UI is formally launched through the beta site. If you want a good laugh, read Gillmor’s post first and then read Scoble’s comment.

Two wonderful outcomes of this trial: evidence that there is no link between file sharing and declining CD sales; the expert’s wife is inundated with flowers after her husband suggested his wife be sent flowers instead of compensating him for his appearance in court. Love this!
