Unclean thoughts about blogging
I’m sitting at a public terminal at my gym and I thought I’d do a quick post here. I am having odd thoughts about my blogging and I have been thinking about shifting most of my blogging on my tumblelog. As I write this I am thinking about asking what people think about a tumblelog as a primary blog and then it occurs to me that there is no feedback mechanism here so asking what...
‘Terrorist’ taxi drivers must be stopped →
What a disgrace! Taxi drivers are already a rude, surly and dangerous bunch and now they are terrorising commuters who choose to use cheaper and safer forms of public transport.
What is more shameful is the government’s failure to take a strong stand against these thugs. Is this country every going to become a first world country or will we forever be mired in brutish tribalism and...
The country’s access deficit [meaning the lack of broadband connectivity]...

South Africa's telecommunications policy "a... →
Now this is a really interesting admission from our trade and industry minister and former communications minister about how our government’s telecommunications policy was a mistake and what we now need is a “giant leap forward”.
Lethargy, my old friend
The last two days have been painful. I haven’t had the desire to anything really productive and my task list isn’t getting any shorter. I don’t know what it is but I feel really apathetic about work at the moment and it is really bad timing. This is the time when I need to focus even more so and work harder.
Yuck!
Sprout and the 16 week scan
We had the 16 week scan yesterday and found out …

It turns out MarsEdit works with Vox now
Daniel Jalkut from Red Sweater Software released version 1.2 of MarsEdit recently. I use MarsEdit for my blogging and I see that MarsEdit now supports Vox too. I am curious to see how Vox handles posts published using MarsEdit as opposed to its own excellent blog editor with all its wonderful interface options.
I don’t see the option to upload media items in a post to Vox when a post is...
… people are doing other things …
– I heard this quote from one of CNN’s news anchor’s during the coverage of Paris Hilton’s latest: a health complaint that seemingly prevented her from attending court, at least until police officers arrived at her house to bring her to court. Check out CNN’s coverage for...
Let me introduce you to our puppies
I have talked about them so much and there are so many videos and photos of them on the Web and I realised I haven’t actually introduced our little furry bundles of joy, Salami, Bandit and Stuart … until now:

Bandit hurt his shoulder
We have been really silly. We got into the habit of picking Bandit and Salami up on to our bed (Stu can jump up himself, he is pretty strong) and let them jump off. The other day Bandit started limping a bit. He stopped limping after half an hour or so and our vet said we should just keep an eye on him and his behaviour. I felt his front legs and he didn’t cry out so I didn’t...

Family photos of the puppies
I have been hoping I would have an opportunity to take decent photos of the puppies for a while and on the weekend all three of them jumped onto the one bed in what will be Sprout’s bedroom and I managed to take three fairly decent photos in which they were all looking at me in two of them. Here is my favourite:

Breakfast with Shirley at Aromas
We just had breakfast with Shirley at Aromas in Killarney. It was packed and the food was pretty good. We sat next to a door that some rude people didn’t close when they walked through it, letting a cold draft.

A negative lunch
I wanted to see what the video quality on my new phone (the Nokia N73) is like so I shot this short video and applied a negative colour tone. I think it came out pretty good actually.

Keeping warm at night
Our gas heater ran out of gas last night and I didn’t get a chance to get more gas today so tonight we huddled under blankets to keep warm. The puppies never handle the cold well so they burrowed under the blanket I had which is a pretty big and warm one. I took this photo of Bandit when he poked his head out from under the blanket:
